Clint Caldwell graduated from Eastside High School in Gainesville, FL. A few days later he caught a bus to Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina to attend basic and advanced training in the Army. After graduating at the top of his class he returned to Florida to work as a light-wheel vehicle mechanic (63B). Clint served in the Army Reserve for 6 years during which time he also attended two computer courses at Valencia Community College and began experimenting with web development.
After learning the basics of HTML and PHP, Clint began administering two dedicated LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) servers to host his own small string of websites during the early 2000s. He set up Apache, MySQL, and Sendmail to run his websites and deliver newsletters to massive mailing lists. During this time he was also employed as a Sales Representative at RadioShack and Cingular Wireless.
In the early 2010s Clint put web development aside and began working in automotive again as a manager at Advance Auto Parts. A few years later he realized his true passion was computers instead of automotive, so he returned to part-time web development work until late 2016.
Clint realized at this point that he had been happiest not when programming but when helping others troubleshoot, repair, or upgrade computer hardware and software. That is why he decided to pursue an A.S. degree in Network Systems Technology with a concentration in Network Server Administration at Santa Fe College. He graduated as planned in May 2019 and two weeks later obtained a full-time job as the Systems Administrator for Charles Perry Partners, Inc., a general contractor in the commercial construction industry since 1968.
His hobbies are PC and Nintendo gaming, bike riding, weight-lifting, web development, add-on development for World of Warcraft, plugin development for WordPress, and watching action-comedy movies.
